Recipes go digital with this new gadget

There isn’t a recipe fanatic around who doesn’t have their own collection of little used cookbooks, or a stack of food-stained papers with family recipes on them. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a PDA style device which could not only call up a recipe at the touch of a button, and add your own recipes? One that wipes off easily so it won’t get dirty in the craziness of the average kitchen?

Enter the Demy Digital Recipe Reader. With a 2500 recipe database capacity (with photos), the Demy can be updated via USB connection. Users can upload their own recipes, or download via keyingredient.com.  It includes a 7? LCD screen and can switch between portrait and landscape modes.

Also, there are three cooking timers, a conversion tool and substitutions database should you be out of a certain ingredient listed. It doesn’t appear to have that printing feature, but that should be a big addition for a 2.0 version.

It may seem silly, but if we can have a paperless office, why not a paperless/bookless kitchen? Being released very soon for around $300, and they’re accepting preorders now (a bit on the high side, but hey, if you are a big person in the kitchen, it may be worth it to you).
