Sweet sound in a nice package: Asus releases the AIR3 speaker system for the iPod

asus-air3Asus is a name that most have seen on motherboards and netbooks/notebooks, but now with this latest bit of news they also have extended their reach to the world of smartphones and now speakers as well. This time around they’ve announced the Asus AIR3 that brings together the functionality of a speaker along with an iPod dock, complete with Internet radio to further extend the listening options for your home.

Despite being able to cater to a wide variety of entertainment sources, the AIR3 is still able to fulfill the needs of a discerning audiophile – at least that’s what Asus claims. They claim the fidelity is close to a Bose or other similar high-priced make, so it probably won’t be cheap.

This new Asus AIR3 will feature their “High Definition Sound Standard” certified speakers, while its ETL (Embedded Transmission Line) module within the chambers provide natural, clear sound quality. The latter basically reorganizes sound energy to reduce the disruptive vibration that would otherwise result in listeners feeling fatigued and uncomfortable.  It sounds more complicated than it is: It’s designed to sound real good.

Connectivity options include an iPod dock and full Internet radio support with more than 10,000 radio stations worldwide for your listening pleasure. Other features of the Asus AIR3 include a slick high gloss panel, blue fancy-looking LED lighting and seamless curved speaker grille, complemented by contrasting panels.

Price was not announced in the press release. Link is here.
