The internal battery is good for a fair amount of time (at least a few hours) before they require you to rehook them to a USB port again. It comes with an LED indicator to let you know when they need more juice, and you can even adjust the temperature to make them just right for your tootsies.

Inside the slippers, you will find an super-thin aluminum heating mechanism being used. And it hooks up via a traditional power outlet as well, so even if your PC is missing, your feet can still stay warm.
