No more camping light shortage: The Coleman Quad Lantern

coleman-quad-lanternColeman has been making great camping and roughing-it gear for many years now, and this is one of their brighter (pun intended) and more interesting releases. We know that camping out in the middle of the woods can present lots of lighting issues. Typically it means lot of batteries and flashlights. But Coleman has a different kind of solution for this age-old problem.

This one is a single huge lantern that will give plenty of light for a wide radius, but with a unique perk when you decide to scout in different areas separately.

The four side panels all separate into 4 different lights you can carry. They can work by themselves or can be put back into the lantern as one unit again. Each panel has a rechargeable battery, and they charge off the 8 D batteries placed in the base of the lantern.  They can keep the lantern on for 3 days together, or 1 hour of light each separate panel while detached.

Very slick idea and cool gear for any camping trip, and its available at the Sears site for only $69.99.
