Flash Drives with a Purpose: The WWF USB Panda Flash Drive
Active Media Products and the World Wildlife Fund have teamed up to offer a tiny portable flash drive with wildlife as its driving theme, which should be no surprise. It will model the endangered species that populate the Earth.
5% of the purchase price of each unit sold goes to the WWF to continue their fine work. We don’t normally cover devices with a charitable bent like this one, but we sorta like being reporters of the other things going on in the world sometimes, besides cool gadgets.
One of the cooler designs is the giant panda USB flash drive, although at 2.5? long its still easy to carry around. The device itself is even eco-friendly: it’s manufactured with PVC-free non-toxic silicone, with no lead and mercury used. The capacities sold are 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, and the 8GB one is priced at only $25, which isn’t a bad deal for both the flash drive and helping to save the planet’s rarest creatures.
