The Next Step in Earphones: The Opera S2 and Opera SS Wireless Earbuds
Wireless is truly where the next generation of gadgets is going, and that should have included earphones by now. Well, for the most part this hasn’t happened, but this new gadget is looking to change that fact.
The Digital Opera S2 and iPod compatible Digital Opera S5 wireless earbuds, released by DigiFi and Kleer. Music lovers may sit up and take notice; who hasn’t gotten tangled in a bunch of wires while trying to walk with your favorite portable music player?
Both models come with volume and full track control buttons right on the earbuds themselves. Both models can handle CD quality audio stereo audio up to a range of 32 feet or so (a Bluetooth limitation, but this device). Each works up to 10 hours, and can stream to 4 people at once for a community music experience.
The main difference: the Opera S2 includes a 3.5mm-compatible transmitter which works great with MP3 players, larger stereos, etc among other devices. As for folks who mainly use an iPod or related device, the Opera S5 includes a next-track, volume, etc buttons right on the gadget itself, so its more suited to this type of device.
No announcement on pricing, but both should be released for sale in late June this year.
