(Slightly) Paranoid Tech: The Motion Detecting Phone

Here’s an interesting security idea: a phone that can make calls for you, based on a motion sensor. Perfect for a vacation home or to leave running while you’re away on vacation at your current home, and it looks like a normal (albeit slightly old school) telephone.

It will detect any motion in the room when someone walks past the phone, then it calls the number you have programmed in without alerting the visitor. It then allows you to “listen in” via microphone to whoever is in the house, to determine their intentions. A tad bit paranoid, but hey, you can never be too careful nowadays.
