Track Your Life: The Philips DirectLife

directlife-daily-activity-trackerAs one of those (fortunate?) individuals who spend a lot of time in front of a computer, I try to exercise as much as I can, but sometimes think it may not be enough. This gadget is just for those sort of people, and it measures your progress and changes over time pretty well: The Philips DirectLife.

It will consider key factors, such as your age, gender, height and weight, ya know, what makes you, you. It then measures how much calories you burn based on your activities during the day. It’s even waterproof, so you can wear it while swimming (something that burns a lot of calories, incidentally).

The device is very accurate (according to the company) in measuring your daily calorie burning and can be placed on your belt or worn as a necklace, or just put into a pocket.

The Philips DirectLife can be obtained for $79 up until Oct 30th, and that comes with a 4 month membership to their tracking program.  After the trial period, the monthly cost will move to $12.50, which isn’t terrible, but could be lower if they really wanted big-time membership.
