SSD In A Whole New Light: The PhotoFast G-Monster2 SFV1
SSD technology has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of speed, availability and price of late, and this is a perfect example of that concept. Remember in 2008 when we reported on these SSD drives? We’ve come a long way, baby, as the old saying goes.
PhotoFast has announced a slick and (according to rumors, inexpensive) new line of SSDs soon to be released, code-named the G-Monster2 SFV1. Sizes are slated to be 50GB, 100GB, 200GB and 400GB, and these 2.5-inch drives feature built-in NAND memory, a SATA 3.0 interface for blazing speed, an operating life of over 1 million hours and is capable of read/write speeds of up to 260/160 MB per second, respectively.
The company has stated it will start shipping next month for prices to be announced, but expect it to be lower than we’ve seen previously.
