The Sharper Image Rotating Speaker System is part of their comeback routine, and is looking mighty impressive so far. It’s a speaker system for the Apple iPod or iPhone that works as an iPod dock, speaker system and packs a little something extra too.

If you want to watch a movie on it, the Rotating Speaker System will turn the iPhone 90 degrees sideways so you can watch it properly in its aspect ratio. The company boasts full, rich sound and lighted controls, and it comes with inserts that allows it to fit any style of iPod or iPhone device, and works as a charging dock when turned off.

The Sharper Image Rotating Speaker System should be up for purchase on October 15, here for example,for $79.99, which isn’t a terrible price for something pretty slick and useful.

Now this we had to laugh at, marvel at (and cover on GS of course): it’s inexpensive, and it (sorta) protects your Apple iPhone from harm. I almost thought it was a joke, but its an actual product you can buy: The iPhone Recession Case. And we’re tempted to buy one just to keep it as a party joke of some kind.

It’s created with 100% recycled cardboard, and its simple and fire-retardant and quite druable. No screen coverage, but hey, its a recession after all, what do you expect?

Take A Pill: The iPill iPod Microphone

This gadget adds a microphone to an existing Apple iPod (not usually a feature of the device) and has a rather unique look to it: the form of a pill capsule, for some strange reason. Maybe that’s the latest cool look; to appear as if you’re a drug user. Who knows these days?

The iPill is a microphone attachment that is compatible with the iPod nano 4G, iPod classic 120GB, and iPod touch 2G, pretty much the whole range of recent iPod devices.

The iPill is available in the US for $13 (£8) and is a great gift idea for anyone who is attached at the ear to their iPod.

This is one of the cooler and reasonably priced gadgets we’ve profiled on here, for certain. It’s an iPod dock, a cool colored lightning ball, a clock and alarm and AM/FM radio as well. We love it.

And better still: The colors in the ball will actually move along with the beat of the music. It’s like a big nerdy combination of things we always wanted to have together, but thought it would cost a pretty penny.

And there’s more: you can hook it up to your computer and sync the music up with your system. It claims that it will work with any iPod that can hook up to a dock, so yours should work with this just fine, no troubles or worries.

iLuv is famous for their cool docks and equipment, and this new release doesn’t change that trend at all. The iMM153 alarm clock/dock actually claims to be powerful enough to wake you up from your deepest sleep, as it includes a bed shaker, radio station and iPhone/iPod soundtracks you can can select as well.

The LCD display allows 10 different dimmer settings with a 3.5mm input jack lets you hook up to a variety of devices, not just Apple gadgets, which is good for flexibility’s sake.

If you have to go to bed with music, you can pick from an FM station or iPod/MP3 player audio content to float to dreamland with. It’s compatible with nearly all of the iPod line, and comes in pink, blue, white or black color choices.

The iMM153 will be available at retail for $60 each.

iPod Shuffle in Disguise: The ChocoShuffle Case

iPod Shuffles (and iPods in general) tend to be targeted by thieves and such, since they’re one of the more valuable and desirable gadgets around. This new case makes the iPod look like a bar of chocolate (almost), protecting it from prying eyes.

It has all the openings needed to still use it; an opening for the earphones to plug into, and a clip opening too.

It comes in 3 different ‘flavors’ of a sort: white chocolate, milk chocolate and a red (strawberry) chocolate. The case won’t cost you much, which is assumed since the new iPod Shuffle is so tiny there won’t be a need for much material.

We sometimes just profile useful solid gadgets without any cuteness or unique design to them. They’re just useful combo gadgets that look nice. Case in point: This gadget.

This is an attractive iPod docking station from Chinavasion with alarm clock included. Priced at only $32.01 (cheap too), it acts as an ipod speaker and charger too, and you know how we love our combo gadgets.

The alarm and other functions can be ocntrolled easily with the onboard buttons or remote control. It has a stereo aux-in port for non-iPod players too. It includes an FM radio too. The clock is large numbers and easy to read, and can do regular or military style readout.

Take a look at this one; it seems to have a solid feature set.
