It supports 2nd and 3rd generation Nanos directly with a wireless connection, but other MP3 devices will use a connecting cord that is included, thankfully. The “lightweight” headphones might be too big and bulky for some types, but they’re pretty full fidelity for those who value that sort of thing.

If $17.99 doesn’t sound too much for these (and if you own a Nano this is almost a no-brainer for this price), head over to the Skymall and grab yours.

Those people may find a very distinct use for this gadget, the Briefcase USB Turntable, the record player hidden in a briefcase. We’ve done audio converters before, but not quite this style.

It looks like the speaker for one of those antique record players, but its very modern in design. It also requires no batteries or power, which is very cool indeed.

The gadget uses (according to the makers) an entirely acoustic amplification system, using the all-metal “horn” to amplify it even further. The base is hand-carved walnut, using pieces of real antique furniture; a real cool item to display in any house.

The only downside: it’s pretty expensive, running $400 or so. If you have extra money, and have a use for it, it’s awesome indeed.

Meet: The USB Apple Speaker.

No, Apple had nothing to do with making the speakers; they’re shaped (vaguely) like apples, and they even have a keychain attached to make moving the speaker around a little easier. It features a rechargeable battery and easy 3.5mm headphone connectors and this also makes it usable with any MP3 player.

There are various color choices, including yellow, red, pink, green and black. You can get a bite of this apple for only $13 from USB Brando.

We’re one of the few sites that are bringing this device to your attention, and its expected to sell quite well.

There were always rumors of this device being created, but nothing concrete ever surfaced…until now. Now a company has emerged to release the MP3 player to the public, probably by February or so.

It accepts microSD memory cards, and in an odd omission, there will be no LCD screen, the songs will simply play in order from the card. We aren’t sure if some will want a little more control, but this gadget is more about the design than the usefulness apparently.

You can own the “Force” for your very own for $23.90 from NCSX.

But traditional speakers are clumsy to fit into bags or suitcases, but these are designed for folding up and taking with you wherever you go: The Accordion Travel Speaker.

The white speakers are said to have powerful sound, and can stand up in any position needed. The hinges are strong and keep the speaker open, and it has several power options to keep it running longer at a clip: you can use USB power from a computer, or 3 AAA batteries; whatever works for your situation.

It includes 3 speakers and you can pick up this handy speaker setup for $14 from Urban Outfitters.

This gadget can make it a little more fun: The Wireless Waterproof Shower Speaker from Smartak Audio can introduce tuneage to your daily cleanup.

Using fancy sounding “900MHZ Phase Loop Lock” circuitry, the device can send an audio signal up to 150-feet to the unit (even through walls, according to the makers).

It is also compatible with any iPod, iPhone or your choice of MP3 unit (if it uses a 3.5mm output jack of course). The Wireless Waterproof Shower Speaker sells for $59.99 each, which is a pretty good deal for rockin’ with the Rolling Stones while showering.
