They always come up with cool gadgets for reasonable prices, and they always recharge using solar or USB power, so Mother Nature appreciates this company just as much, we’re sure. This is one example of a great Brando gadget we’ve covered previously.

Brando has returned with their latest cool gadget with the Solar-powered Torch, a strong LED flashlight with a small size and infinite rechargeability via the sun.

Measuring 13.0cm x 3.5cm x 3.5cm, the kit comes with 3 400mAh AAA rechargeable batteries, a bright 0.5W LED light, and a solar docking station of sorts to keep the light and recharge it in. It’ll run you $42 to own this light.

Occasionally, we like to show off as yet unreleased cool techs from various trade shows, in this case CES. Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies has debuted the Hydrofill MiniPak, and if it succeeds, it could change the way we charge batteries.

It can charge a variety of gadgets via USB port, first of all, always useful, and it works by extracting the hydrogen from water and storing it in special cartridges, which are then moved inside the Hydrofill MiniPak. It’s eco-friendly, low-impact and uses water to charge batteries rather than electricity, something eco-fanatics should be quite thrilled by, indeed.

No precise pricing or availability info has been released at this time, but the company expects it to be released around the end of the year or so.

The Solar Air Purifier is the perfect solution for just this conundrum.

It has no motor, so therefore no noise commonly emitted by such motors and high-efficiency photo-catalysis to clean up your air. It also includes an active carbon filter to get rid of smoke and ugly smells (amking it great for pet owners).

You can clean up your air the “green” way with the Solar Air Purifier for £39.95 ($65 USD) from The Verdict website.
This little gadget might be the perfect solution for you: The Water-Powered Can Clock. You’ll never have to buy batteries for it, as its powered only by water. Yes, this is for real.

The fluid in the can will actually last 6-12 months, at which time you need to add water to it. Water is cheaper than batteries, needless to say, so this truly is an inexpensive, green solution to the eternal question: “What time is it?”

You can go green for £9.99 or $16 USD through Green Stamp.

Its also very cool if you have frequent power outages, as it draws its power not from a wall plug, but a phone jack. So you can have light even if the power is completely out. Did I mention its pink?

Yes, its totally powered by the phone jack, so if you have one free and you aren’t using it, plug this baby in and save some coin on your electric bill. The (pink) plastic lamp has 8 bright white LED lights, and an on/off switch. The alternate “green” power source is the big draw of this one.

It’s also inexpensive; it’ll run you $4.69 from Ux Sight.

Well, these are just what the doctor ordered: The Water Powered Torch flashlight. Its a heck of an idea, and it should be given the price tag.

Japan Trend Shop has begun selling the Water Powered Torch on their website. It seems this gadget uses AA NoPoPo hydrogen-powered batteries (and they’re even included) that can be recharged using beer, cola, or even (god forbid) urine. That’s right, folks. You’ll always have light, no matter what, pretty much.

They’re compact (3.75-inch x 1.08-inch), and the Water Powered Torch is available for $54 USD each.

That is remedied by the Kiran Solar Lantern, a bright and economical solution to light in the middle of nowhere.

The lantern is (reportedly) up to 5 times brighter than a gas/kerosene light, and works up to 8 hours on a full charge, which can be achieved using solar power or an AC adapter. It gives 360 degreee light, and is built to be pretty sturdy.

In order to get a complete charge the lamp needs 8 hours of sunlight/light and 4 hours plugged in. On High setting it gives 4 hours of light and the 8 hour figure is on Low, it should be noted.

The lamp sells for only $10, another big selling point.

It’s a whole PC in a tiny footprint, something we really like.

Measuring only 5 cm in height and weighing just 1.7 kg, the box is about the size of a CD case, which is amazing indeed.

And it doesn’t skimp on specs either, with a Core 2 Duo Processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, a nice 6 USB ports and HDMI port.

What’s more, its “green” too, using only 19 watts while in idle mode, which is very eco-friendly. The Fujitsu Esprimo Q1500 will be available later this month in Germany for €699 (about $997 USD), not bad given its profile and power specs.
