Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies has debuted the Hydrofill MiniPak, and if it succeeds, it could change the way we charge batteries.

It can charge a variety of gadgets via USB port, first of all, always useful, and it works by extracting the hydrogen from water and storing it in special cartridges, which are then moved inside the Hydrofill MiniPak. It’s eco-friendly, low-impact and uses water to charge batteries rather than electricity, something eco-fanatics should be quite thrilled by, indeed.

No precise pricing or availability info has been released at this time, but the company expects it to be released around the end of the year or so.

Now there is one: The Charging Valet from Sharper Image, a site that has seemingly sprung up from the dead.

You have room for three gadgets, and all you do is plug in the valet, and there’s three built in cords, ready to charge any type of device. It even comes with 5 typically used power tips dedicated to certain types of chargers: Apple, Micro USB, Mini USB, Samsung and LG. Nice touch.

It folds up and closes magnetically, and is easy to carry anywhere on the go; perfect for those road warriors with a lot of gadgets to carry and little room to store them all.

You can obtain this slick idea from the Sharper Image website for $49.99, not too bad really.

Well actually, it will quickly recharge your AA batteries using a car’s cigarette lighter adapter, which is nice for those always on the run in the car (digital cameras on vacation, etc).

There is even a LED light built into the charger itself to read maps or directions by and the socket pivots with almost a full range of motion so you can always find the best way to plug it in.

This one retails at $12.49, and comes with two rechargeable batteries, so that isn’t a bad deal.

Well, sometimes yes and sometimes no. In this case, even the basic plug strip has been slicked up and made very modern and ergonomic in design: see the Icon Socket.

Takumi’s Icon Socket is a very slickly designed round power strip with a giant plug logo on the front, in case you weren’t sure what it was for. It can take up to four devices plugged in at once, and the design is round so that things can fit on there without taking the real estate a typical strip does.

The socket has a magnet on its back, so you can mount it on the legs of your desk, or on your file cabinet for easy reach. This sells for 3,150 Yen ($34) at Amazon.

Some pile them in the kitchen in a holder and plug them all in, and some scatter them on their desks at home. Either way, its usually a big mess. This new gadget aims to change that for many people: The Charging Tube is meant to help out and hopefully simplify the charging issue.

The Charging Tube can charge up to 4 different devices at one time, making it a one stop place for all of your whiz-bang gizmos to charge once again. It comes with 5 charging adapters: the iPod/iPhone, Micro USB, Mini USB, LG Chocolate and Samsung SCH.

The really cool thing about this deal: you can order the one you need from their website free of charge for your exact gadget. The whole tube plugs in through the AC adapter and on the tube itself is a light to indicate that it’s on or not.

You can grab this handy gadget for $29.95.

With all the gadgets and fun stuff to use, it can be very easy to be a total energy pig. Even if you’re careful enough to shut things off when you aren’t in the room, many gadgets have a little red light or something that stays on, even when it is isn’t in use. That’s what the TV TrickleSaver is for.

Just shut off the TV and it will automatically sense that the TV is shut off and turn off any electronics plugged into the device as well. All by itself; no extra effort required.

This is especially useful if you have consoles and such plugged into your TV, like an XBox or PlayStation3. This handy little device will run you $34.95, but in the long run would save you many pennies when your electricity bill comes.
