Brando seems to specialize in this under-served market of late, and here’s an intesting entry: The “Car Key” Hidden Spy Camera.

This isn’t the very first model they’ve released of this type, but it is a nice redesign, with rounded edges and much sharper video resolutions. The res is 1600 x 1200 and the color video can be shot at 640 x 480. It has 29 FPS and has built-in audio as well, so you can capture pretty much anything that’s needed. The exact need for a gadget like this isn’t super clear, but hey, sometimes gadgets are what they are.

It also has a rechargeable battery and a Micro SD card slot to store the video on. You can grab one of these for $36 or acquire one with a 8GB card included for your storage pleasure for $63 straight from Brando.

It’s for the kid who dreams of being a CSI (and there are more of them, these days).

Here’s more about it from the site:

This All-in-One Inspection Set is designed for future detectives, as it highlights all the nifty aspects of it. For example, it has a 7 piece fingerprint kit that allows your kids to use lifting tape, glow in the dark powder, and an LED flashlight with UV Blacklight. This kit also has tiny ink case and a 2-sided fingerprint card for more fingerprint fun.The Evidence Kit also has an interesting 30X microscope that you can see standing on end in the photo. It can definitely introduce youngsters to the concept of the microscopic world. It also comes with 2 collection bags in case your kids are playing very realistic cops and robbers for “tag it and bag it” fun.

You can grab this great gift at the Shop Wild Planet website for about $22.95 (sale price for now).

At one point, only night time soldiers could get ahold of these, but now they’re going to be available on IWOOT in the the next week or so (pre orders are being taken right now) for £100. It’s something any geeky weekend warrior playing laser tag or something would just love.

These goggles allow you to see up to 15 meters ahead of you in darkness, if needed. Perfect for playing hide and seek in the garden, or watching owls and bats of an evening. And best of all, the light emitted by these functioning is barely visible, so you can stalk your prey without them seeing you at all.

The Night Vision Goggles need 5 AA batteries, so they’re fairly greedy with power, so investing in rechargeable batteries might be a smart move if you get these. Grab them here.

More here from the website:

Available only at Hammacher Schlemmer, this is the kite equipped with a digital camera, enabling you to take aerial pictures from as high up as 80?. The camera secures to the underside of the 47 1/4? x 23 1/2? delta wing kite and can be set to take a picture at 15-, 30-, 60-, or 90-second intervals. It can store up to 25 pictures at 640 x 480 resolution or as many as 305 pictures at 320 x 200 resolution on its built-in 4 MB memory. When your flights are complete, the camera connects to your computer running Windows XP or Vista via USB for image downloads. The kite is made from durable nylon with sturdy fiberglass supports. Requires two AAA batteries.

We can’t think of a ton of uses for this (well, wholesome ones anyway), but we’re sure you can think of more devious ones. This one will run you $89.95.

If you like to wear shirts with black buttons, then this camera might be a fun thing to try out. It allows you to wear the camera on you without people spotting it very easily.

The ring is the key; it’s a plain gold ring, and you just put the ring near the camera to activate it. It’s a fairly generic ring that should work with women or men, and when you don’t need the camera on, just wear it casually.

The video resolution is a pretty nice looking 608 x 488 pixels and the picture resolution is 1200 x 1600 pixels, which is excellent for something this size. It has 4GB of memory built-in, so plenty of room for images and video, plus a rechargeable Li-on battery.

You can grab it for $96 through Brando.

TriSpecs allow you to use them as a wireless MP3 music player and answer mobile phone calls through Bluetooth as well, which is a combo gadget lover’s dream come true. Early reports are very positive about the gadget itself.

The TriSpecs ear buds are retractable, which means you can adjust them as needed during different activities. Even better is the incorporated noise reduction, which filters background noise from Bluetooth phone calls on it, for better sound quality.

Great gift for someone on the go who loves their gadgets and to prepare for the upcoming spring/summer months. To own these cool glasses, go to TriSpecs and they retail for $199.

This pen may be the perfect choice.

Its a nice ballpoint pen, but that isn’t all. It has a flexible “shaft” LED light built-in, plus a UV light and red laser pointer as well. So that person will always have light to illuminate anything, anywhere, anytime.

It even has a stylus built in so you don’t have to drag one around with you, and its compatiable with any device that can use a stylus. This is truly the pen-ultimate (pun intended) convergence gadget that any geek would get very excited about, and the best thing is: it’s very economical as well.

It’s priced at only $9.99 on the Think Geek website.

How about a “lighter” with a video camera and microphone? James Bond would be mighty jealous of a gadget like this.

The Lighter DVR is a spy enthusiasts dream come true. Not only does it have an eagles-eye camera and high-sensitivity microphone, but the actual lighter works as well. It includes a MicroSD slot and charges by plugging it into a USB port on an active system.

It records pretty solid quality: 650 x 480 or QVGA in AVI format at 30 fps. One caveat though: They’re being sold online, but you can only get them wholesale for now. They can be grabbed in bulk for $150 each. They’d make very interesting gifts, though.

Bandai will be launching its own Jame Bond-ish alarm clock, named Gun O’ Clock, on November 15th in Japan only (for now). This model doesn’t use the same type of target, but features two modes to shut off the alarm: Normal and Hard. Normal mode sets the clock to go into Snooze mode or shut off by hitting a target once, but with Hard Mode, you have to strike the target 5 times, something that could be a problem, depending on the distance of the clock from your bed.

A rather unique and interesting gadget to say the least. Pricing details were not available.
