People sometimes get annoyed at cell phone calls, even in situations where you need to know if someone is calling or not. This gadget is ideal if you have a designated area where you receive phone calls or a space dedicated to things like this; it alerts you when phone calls come in, in a silent non-obnoxious fashion.

This little egg guy is the gadget itself; on its own, just looks like a silly little robot that shows the time (another one of its functions). But…when a phone call happens, the “egg” just shakes its legs, and that’s all.

No noise, no flashing LED lights, no buzzing, and nothing to weigh on anyone’s nerves. It’s currently mostly available from the UK at present. In the UK you can own it for only £3.99 at Amazon.

Sometimes, you need to shoot video in the oddest of places, including around water (now that spring and summer are on the way). Who wants to have to baby their device and still try to get great shots? With the DXG-125V HD waterproof camcorder, there’s no need to do that, and for only $100? Yes, you read correctly.

This camera records video in very nice 720p using H.264 compression, one of the better schemes around. Available this July in olive green, red and camouflage colored (?! for some reason), this rugged weatherproof/weatherproof camcorder from DXG comes with a neckstrap with a built-in compass, a fully rechargeable battery as well, so it literally can go anywhere.

Give your signal a lift: The USB Cellphone Booster

If you’re lucky enough to live in an area with erratic or weak cell phone coverage, there are devices now that can help with this conundrum. There’s the Cellphone Booster from ThinkGeek, which supposedly helps increase the signal strength, assuming there’s any signal there to begin with.

The creators state that you usually need at least 1 bar of signal for this to really work (can’t boost what isn’t there at all). It retails for $99.99. It’s briefly sold out right now, but they usually restock frequently, and ship out as soon as they get any.
