This new ViewSonic projector looks to be just the ticket. VS is launching a DLP projector, the PJD5351, ultra-light at 5.5 pounds and looks to be very cool indeed.

Its rated at 2500 lumens, which means it can project clearly even in if it isn’t pitch dark in the room showing the images. A 2000:1 contrast ratio is included with a res of 1024×768 XGA pixels for images. But most interestingly of all, its throw ratio of 0.9 which permits a 50 inch image to be thrown from just 3 feet or so, which is pretty darn useful.

Manual focus and digital zoom function is included as well as dual RGB inputs, component, composite and S-Video that permits connection to many kinds of gadgets.

It retails for $799 on Amazon right now. Feel free to look if a flexible, short throw projector fits your needs.

Electronic toys are always among the favorites among boys who love technology. This latest example is a high-end projector made small and brought to the masses.

The EyeClips Mini Projector allows the user to bring TV shows, movies, video games anywhere they’d like, depending on the surrounding light and the screen you use. Projector tech has gotten to the point where its very economical (and portable) so why not make a low-cost one people can bring anywhere?

It fits in the average pocket easily for ease of carrying, and a high powered LED is used to project media up to 70? in size from a compatible device, which covers DVD players, MP3 devices and more. It may not support quite the res of a Blu-Ray player, but the res is pretty solid for such a small projector.

It comes with built in speakers, and it takes D batteries that provide 10 hours of showtime (or you can plug it into a power outlet, of course). This cool little gadget will retail when its available for $99.99 each, a great price indeed for such an innovation.

Press release about the device here.

Sanyo have really outdone themselves this time where the PLC-XW57 and portability is concerned, and it will tip the scales at just 6.4 lbs., taking up a minimal amount of space courtesy of its tiny footprint of 13? x 3.15? x 9.3?. It’s portable enough to be carried to various locations.

The Sanyo PLC-XW57 comes with a 2,000 lumens brightness, courtesy of its 200-watt UHP lamp that offers outstanding brightness and well-balanced color reproduction. The inclusion of a 3D Automatic Uniformity Correction Control (AUCC) circuit also makes sure that uniformity is retained, balancing uneven color and brightness gradations for a more natural image. It can do HDTV signals 720p, 1035i and 1080i (no 1080p).

It will retail for $895 and the Press Release is here.
