Jabra has recently released a new Bluetooth speakerphone, the Cruiser, that blocks out outside noise to increase conversation clarity (noise being a common issue with Bluetooth style headsets).

The device is made to be mounted on the visor of a car and supports Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and eSCO, so you can drive and talk at the same time, since many US states now have laws against driving with a phone to your ear, for very good reasons.

The Jabra Cruiser also features an FM transmitter allowing you to hook up a cell phone or MP3 player with music on it and listen to it with your Cruiser speaker.

This gadget provides 14-hours of talk time or up to 13-days of standby time, which is above average for this kind of device. If this sort of thing tickles your fancy, you can acquire the Jabra Cruiser for $159 each.

It will change the way you view gadgets like this.

The design is similar to other MoGo products (mice especially), as it can fold flat into and it’ll fit nicely into a ExpressCard slot on any notebook, getting charged whenever to make sure that your conversations never get cut short by a dead battery; something road warriors will appreciate big time.

The MoGo Talk is able to remain on standby power for over a week, and it also comes with a flexible thin rubber ear piece that will mold to the shape of your ear, which helps eliminate outside noise too.

If you’re chomping at the bit to get this, it’ll be out later this August for $99 each.

This is one of the more unusual gadgets: the Steering Wheel Bluetooth Speakerphone.

More from the creators:

This is the Bluetooth speakerphone that attaches to your steering wheel, placing the microphone and speakers closer to you for easier conversations without taking your hands off the wheel. The device uses two 2-watt speakers coupled with noise reduction and echo cancellation technologies for clear transmission and reception. Inbound calls appear on the device’s 9/16? display as either numbers or names (depending upon how your cell phone is set up), allowing you to accept or reject calls with a press of a button. Volume, mute, and phone book buttons allow further control right from the steering wheel. The device can be paired with up to eight different cell phones and you can transfer up to 600 phone numbers to its 256MB memory. Its rechargeable battery provides five hours of continuous talk time from a three-hour charge using the included DC car adapter.

The $99.95 retail price isn’t terrible, but you won’t be able to use it outside the car, so that makes it not good if you’re in and out of your car a lot. Still a pretty interesting take on wireless car conversation, however.

Laying around the pool, one gets an urge to listen to music sometimes. Well, this one is suited perfectly for lounging in the pool, as this speaker floats along the water next to you, so you don’t have to get out to adjust the volume. Just add friends and some good food/drinks and you’re all set for party time.

It does use Bluetooth, so an MP3 player with Bluetooth built-in or a phone with MP3s on it (an iPhone for example), and the device has to be within 30 feet of the speaker. If that phone gets a call, it’ll just shut off the music while you chat.

You can grab this speaker for $40 on Chinavasion.

Here’s the details from the site:

The Bluetooth Car Kit comprises a sleek black car speakerphone that mounts to your car’s windscreen via suction cups and ensures you stay safe and legal when driving, without ever missing an important phone call. The Bluetooth Car Kit comes with a variety of charging options, including USB and via your car’s cigarette lighter, but the most notable is the powerful built-in solar panel. Just two hours in daylight provides one hour of talk time, which is largely thanks to this environmentally-friendly car speakerphone using less energy than standard devices. With your phonebook transferred to your car speakerphone you can also make use of the handy Text-to-Speech feature which speaks the name/number of any incoming calls so there’s no need to take your eyes off the road. Save energy and talk for longer with the Bluetooth solar powered speakerphone!

This cool little eco-device will run you £44.95 – not bad when you also consider its charged by solar power, so no worries about batteries running out in the middle of driving or anything like that.

Either way, a single look at the Aliph Jawbone Prime Bluetooth headset and you’ll see the range of colors and that its a serious device.

The Jawbone brand is considered one of the top Bluetooth headsets out there today, being one of the first “bone conduction” Bluetooth gadgets out there. The Jawbone Prime goes even further with NoiseAssassin technology that filters out background noise along with voice technology that keeps it from touching a users face, yet makes voices loud and clear.

Hosain Rahman, Aliph’s CEO and co-founder states:

“We watched our customers closely and saw how they struggled to be heard in extreme noise environments. So, we focused our engineering team to go deeper on the tough problems like crying babies, pounding jackhammers, beeping elevators and the like. As a result, we are excited to announce Jawbone PRIME, with orders of magnitude better noise suppression, so our customers can continue their conversations wherever they happen to be.”

The $129.99 retail package will come with its a trio of round Earbuds, three “fitted” Earbuds and an optional earloop to fit around virtually any ear of any shape or size. Press release here.

The world is rapidly going green, and that includes all of the fancy gadgets we use on a day to day basis. This particular gadget addresses a law present in areas of the US and the world, and is pretty convenient and green to use as well.

Scosche has announced a purely solar-powered gadget with the SolCHAT Bluetooth Speaker phone. It’s main purpose is to be used to chat with in your car, to avoid falling afoul with many of the new laws regarding driving while talking on a typical cell phone.

It has a rechargeable battery with solar panel built-in. Who knows how efficient it will be, but still, it’s a nice attempt to keep things green in a world that appears may need it. The SolCHAT can be plugged into a USB port too if the sun is being shy on a particular day.

The hope is that something like this will become standard (or optional) equipment at some point, that way you can still talk with someone and not be distracted by having the phone near your ear. When its released, the MSRP will be around $99.99 or so, including the USB cable and car adapter as well.

It can make it tough to hear your cell phone ring, or some phones have a ringtone with such low fidelity that you can only hear it in a totally quiet room. Enter the Vibrating Bluetooth Bracelet.

The bracelet not only vibrates when you have a phone call, but will display the caller ID stuff right on the bracelet itself in a little LCD screen, so no need to rummage for your phone to see who’s calling. It’s a simple, efficient and cool little gadget with an elegant and slick design. Hopefully this catches on so they can develop even more styles for this type of thing.

You can grab yourself one for only $26.

Which is why is Philips SHB 7110, or Tapster is very cool, forward thinking indeed.

The Tapster syncs with a user’s MP3 Player and/or phone, which is cool in itself, but it has some really cool touch-sensitive controls that put it in a class by itself. Most of the controls involve tapping or swiping your finger, which is very Apple-esque.

To adjust the volume, just swipe a finger along the ear of the headphones. To mute it, just give a certain area a quick tap, and it mutes. It sounds like the future, alright.

It includes sound quality enhancement called “EverClear” which is supposed to lessen background noise and improve music and call quality.

An odd note: You can see it on the Philips website, but it doesn’t seem to be purchaseable yet. Prices not announced, but expect it to be not cheap. It should be out soon, we’d assume.

Brando has released the MSI BK100 Foldable Universal Bluetooth Keyboard. It comes with 65 basic keys (most of what people use on a keyboard), and it’s tiny and compact. It operates on the 2.40GHz and 2.4835GHz frequencies across 79 channels, so no issues with signal or getting jammed up by many BT devices on at the same time.

Usable with a few AAA batteries, it can fold up and go with you wherever you go. It ain’t cheap though; these sell for $54 each, so make sure you have a real need before plunking down for one of these. Very cool concept though, for those who hate those tiny keyboards on many micro-devices these days.
