This gadget can make it a little more fun: The Wireless Waterproof Shower Speaker from Smartak Audio can introduce tuneage to your daily cleanup.

Using fancy sounding “900MHZ Phase Loop Lock” circuitry, the device can send an audio signal up to 150-feet to the unit (even through walls, according to the makers).

It is also compatible with any iPod, iPhone or your choice of MP3 unit (if it uses a 3.5mm output jack of course). The Wireless Waterproof Shower Speaker sells for $59.99 each, which is a pretty good deal for rockin’ with the Rolling Stones while showering.

It’s a speaker system for the Apple iPod or iPhone that works as an iPod dock, speaker system and packs a little something extra too.

If you want to watch a movie on it, the Rotating Speaker System will turn the iPhone 90 degrees sideways so you can watch it properly in its aspect ratio. The company boasts full, rich sound and lighted controls, and it comes with inserts that allows it to fit any style of iPod or iPhone device, and works as a charging dock when turned off.

The Sharper Image Rotating Speaker System should be up for purchase on October 15, here for example, for $79.99, which isn’t a terrible price for something pretty slick and useful.

It’s created with 100% recycled cardboard, and its simple and fire-retardant and quite druable. No screen coverage, but hey, its a recession after all, what do you expect?

You can buy 1 for only $0.99 (now that’s recession proof!) or 10 at one time for $7.99 total.

Laying around the pool, one gets an urge to listen to music sometimes. Well, this one is suited perfectly for lounging in the pool, as this speaker floats along the water next to you, so you don’t have to get out to adjust the volume. Just add friends and some good food/drinks and you’re all set for party time.

It does use Bluetooth, so an MP3 player with Bluetooth built-in or a phone with MP3s on it (an iPhone for example), and the device has to be within 30 feet of the speaker. If that phone gets a call, it’ll just shut off the music while you chat.

You can grab this speaker for $40 on Chinavasion.

It’s part of the package of human beings touching things, but it doesn’t have to be that way with this cool little cleaning kit: the iPhone Stylus and Touchscreen Cleaning Kit. Here’s the lowdown from the creators:

…this is the world’s first ‘wet cleaning’ system for touch screen gadgets, and it’ll keep your smartphone, iPhone, PSP or whatever looking like it’s just stepped out of the salon. Simply pop off this ultra sleek doodah’s cap to reveal a sponge tip that soaks up special cleaning fluid from an internal (refillable) reservoir. Then rub the tip over your gizmo to ‘wet clean’ its surface. Finally give it a buff using the included micro-fibre carry-pouch. Genius. As well as removing dust, stains and fingerprints, the Cleaning Kit provides an anti-static, anti-bacterial finish so screens stay cleaner for longer.

Sounds good to us. And what really puts the cherry on the sundae for this £7.95 ($11.50 or so USD) iPhone Stylus and Touchscreen Cleaning Kit is a special pin to help you remove iPhone (or other phone) SIM cards that tend to get stuck at times.

iPod chargers/docks is a booming industry, with many companies putting out all kinds of variations on the theme. This one combines an iPod charger with a weather alert system, alarm clock and FM radio, which is what we at GS love, as our readers know: convergence. You gotta love it when devices combine utilities of varying types into a cohesive whole.

This particular model will be announced at CES and won’t be out for a few months, but they’ve released a few tidbits about the gadget that perked our interest. One great feature is that iMM183 can charge both an iPhone and iPod at the same time (a 4th Gen or later iPod required).

The dual dock system is useful if you have a significant other as well; you charge both devices at the same time. The dock has the regular features like a built-in alarm clock and is able to play your i-Gadget through the built-in speaker system.

It should also work with any other devices you have laying around as well. It can even tell you the weather: it includes support for weather text alerts from NOAA and SAME that will automatically display on the preset radio channels, and has an LED to show when there is a new alert to read. Very neat indeed.

No word on price, but it’ll come out around March or so. Cream of the crop for Apple i-device docks in our eyes.

A lot of the companies selling accessories have started to attempt to think outside of the traditional “box”, and some odd ones have shown up too. However, this one actually makes sense to me. Many people use a nightlight in a hallway or room to brighten up the area during late night restroom trips, so why not combine that utility with a charger for your most prized gadget, the iPhone/iPod?

Useful multi-function devices are good, and so this one hits the sweet spot. You can pick up the night light/charger gadget for $39.99 at their website. Not cheap, but for something that tries to go outside the box and hits the target, it’s worth the price tag.
